Profile

Infrastructure engineer with over twenty years of experience operating, designing, and automating IT systems.

I focus on SRE, Platform Engineering, and running high-load production platforms: Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, observability, infrastructure automation, VoIP, and fault-tolerant distributed systems.

I don’t just keep existing infrastructure running — I improve it: bring order, make systems clearer, more predictable, and reproducible. I design monitoring, build internal automation tools, develop infrastructure services in Go and Bash, investigate incidents, and fix architectural constraints rather than symptoms.

In my spare time I maintain open-source Go projects — VirtForge, Archivist, and others. I write about infrastructure and systems software on my blog (Russian).

I’m most interested in complex infrastructure problems that require root-cause analysis and a systematic approach instead of quick fixes.

Projects

VirtForge

Declarative KVM/libvirt orchestrator — YAML, HTTP API, cloud-init

A lightweight alternative to heavy platforms: VMs, networks, and storage described in Git, deployed via CLI, agent on the host, Prometheus metrics, TLS/mTLS.

Go · libvirt · YAML · Prometheus

Archivist

Backup control plane — orchestrates pg_dump, s5cmd, age

Declarative YAML jobs, manifest and checksum per artifact, pull-model agents, audit trail. Not a monolithic backup suite — a thin orchestrator over proven CLI tools.

Go · PostgreSQL · S3 · YAML

Courier

Adaptive proxy router that prefers direct connections

Local SOCKS5/HTTP CONNECT: direct or upstream per destination. Policy routing, GeoIP, decision cache, courier explainfor debugging.

Go · SQLite · GeoIP

FlacSplit

CLI for splitting lossless audio by CUE sheet

Split, tagging, cover art from MusicBrainz/Last.fm, FLAC and ALAC output. Pure Go where it makes sense.

Go · ffmpeg
